By it, their destruction will take place. He did not destroy them when they denied the Prophet with a punishment of total extermination, as He destroyed those before them with the punishment of total extermination, such that not one of them remained.
بِهَا يَكُونُ هَلاكُهُمْ، وَلَمْ يُهْلِكْهُمْ حِينَ كَذَّبُوا النَّبِيَّ بِعَذَابِ الاسْتِئْصَالِ، كَمَا أَهْلَكَ مَنْ قَبْلَهُمْ بِعَذَابِ الاسْتِئْصَالِ، فَلَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْهُمْ أحدٌ.
