Translation · EN

[And if We give man a taste] meaning: the polytheist, [of mercy from Us] meaning: health and abundance in provision, [then We withdraw it from him, indeed, he is despairing] of the mercy of Allah that it might reach him such that he would experience prosperity after hardship, [ungrateful] for the favor of Allah the Exalted.

﴿وَلَئِن أذقنا الْإِنْسَان﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمُشرك ﴿منا رَحْمَة﴾ يَعْنِي: صِحَّةً وَسِعَةً فِي الرِّزْقِ ﴿ثُمَّ نَزَعْنَاهَا مِنْهُ إِنَّهُ لَيَئُوسٌ﴾ من رَحْمَة الله (ل ١٤٤) أَنْ تَصِلَ إِلَيْهِ فَيُصِيبُهُ رَخَاءٌ بعد شدَّة ﴿كفور﴾ لنعمة الله تَعَالَى.
