[Then perhaps you would leave out some of what is revealed to you.] With this, He addressed the Prophet, meaning: Do not refrain from conveying on My behalf out of fear of your people, [and your breast is distressed by it, that they might say,] meaning: by them saying, ["Why has a treasure not been sent down to him?"] meaning: Why has wealth not been sent down to him? For he is poor. ["Or (why) has an angel not come with him?"] so that he might inform us that he is a messenger. ["You are only a warner, and Allah is over all things a Guardian,"] meaning: He is the Preserver of their deeds, until He recompenses them for them.
﴿فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحَى إِلَيْك﴾ خَاطَبَ بِهَذَا النَّبِيَّ؛ فَلا تُبَلِّغْ عَنِّي مَخَافَةَ قَوْمِكَ ﴿وَضَائِقٌ بِهِ صدرك أَن يَقُولُوا﴾ بِأَنْ يَقُولُوا ﴿لَوْلا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كنز﴾ هَلا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ مالٌ؛ فَإِنَّهُ فَقِيرٌ ﴿أَوْ جَاءَ مَعَهُ مَلَكٌ﴾ فَيُخْبِرُنَا أَنَّهُ رسولٌ ﴿إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ نذيرٌ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شيءٍ وَكيل﴾ حفيظٌ لأَعْمَالِهِمْ؛ حَتَّى يُجَازِيهِمْ بِهَا.
