Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 2 · Page 88040

Translation · EN

"Until Our command comes," meaning: Our punishment, "and the oven overflows (fāra al-tannūr)." In the tafsir of al-Hasan, the "oven" (al-tannūr) is the gate through which the water of the ark gathers; water gushed forth from it while the ark was on land, and that was the sign for the destruction of the people.

Some of them said: The oven is a spring of water that was in the peninsula (al-Jazirah), known as al-Tannur. Others say: The oven was in the furthest part of his house.

Sa'id narrated from Qatadah who said: The oven was at the highest point of the earth.
