He said: "And the Shout seized those who had wronged." Al-Suddi said: Meaning, the shout of Gabriel, peace be upon him. "And they became within their homes fallen prone," meaning: they had perished.
قَالَ: ﴿وَأَخَذَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّيْحَةُ﴾ (ل ١٤٨) قَالَ السُّدِّيُّ: يَعْنِي: صَيْحَةَ جِبْرِيلَ عليه السلام ﴿فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دِيَارِهِمْ جاثمين﴾ أَي: قد هَلَكُوا.
