Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 2 · Page 93491

Translation · EN

"They said, 'O Shu'ayb, we do not understand much of what you say,'" meaning: we do not accept it, even though they understood it and the evidence had been established against them. "'And indeed, we consider you among us as weak.'" Sufyan said: He was blind. "'And if not for your family, we would have stoned you'" with stones, "'and you are not to us one who is powerful,'" meaning respected, and he was [formerly] one of their nobles.
