"Have you considered, if We let them enjoy for years, then there comes to them that which they were promised?" (Al-Shu'ara: 205-206), meaning: the punishment, "they will not be helped by what they were made to enjoy" (Al-Shu'ara: 207).
﴿أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ مَتَّعْنَاهُمْ سِنِينَ ثُمَّ جَاءَهُم مَا كَانُوا يوعدون﴾ يَعْنِي: الْعَذَابَ ﴿مَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يُمَتَّعُونَ﴾.
