Translation · EN

"Indeed, from hearing [the revelation], they are excluded." Before the Prophet was sent, they used to listen to reports from the news of the heaven, but as for the revelation, they were never able to hear it. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) was sent, they were blocked from those seats where they used to listen, except for one who might steal a hearing and is then pursued by a flaming fire (shooting star).

﴿إِنَّهُم عَن السّمع لمعزولون﴾ وَكَانُوا مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يُبْعَثَ النَّبِيُّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ أَخْبَارًا مِنْ [أَخْبَارِ] السَّمَاءِ، فَأَمَّا الْوَحْيُ فَلَمْ يَكُونُوا يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْ يَسْمَعُوهُ؛ فَلَمَّا بُعِثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مُنِعُوا مِنْ تِلْكَ الْمَقَاعِدَ الَّتِي كَانُوا يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهَا، إِلَّا مَا يَسْتَرِقُ أَحَدُهُمْ فَيُرْمَى بِالشِّهَابِ
