Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 10992

Translation · EN

"Or you make the sky fall upon us in fragments, as you have claimed"—meaning: pieces; according to the interpretation of Qatadah. "Or you bring Allah and the angels before us"—meaning: face to face [visibly]; according to the interpretation of Qatadah.

Muhammad said: "Qubilan" (before us/face to face) is derived from "al-muqabalah" (confrontation/facing).
