Muhammad said: As for those who say it is the name of a man, the meaning is that the tribe or the land was named after that man.
Surat An-Naml (from verse 23 to verse 28).
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: وَمَنْ قَالَ: هُوَ اسْمُ رَجُلٍ، فَالْمَعْنَى: أَنَّ الْقَبِيلَةَ أَوِ الْأَرْضَ سُمِّيَتْ بِاسْمِ ذَلِكَ الرجل.
سُورَة النَّمْل من (آيَة ٢٣ آيَة ٢٨).
