Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 111947

Translation · EN

"They said, 'We consider you an evil omen, and those with you.'" Al-Hasan said: They had been afflicted by hunger, so they said: 'It is because of your bad luck, and the bad luck of those who are with you, that this has befallen us.' "He said, 'Your omen is with Allah,'" meaning: your deeds.

Muhammad said: The meaning is: that is not from me, but rather it is from Allah. "'Rather, you are a people being tested.'" Al-Hasan said: Meaning, you are being turned away from your religion which Allah has commanded you to follow.
