[Bal iddaraka] (Nay, they have attained) - meaning: they have grasped - [ilmuhum fil-akhirah] (knowledge regarding the Hereafter). It is said: They realized in the Hereafter that the matter is exactly as Allah stated, so they believed at a time when their knowledge could no longer benefit them.
