Sa'id, from Qatadah, from al-Ala' ibn Ziyad, that Abdullah ibn Amr said: "The Hour will not be established until the members of a household gather around a single vessel, and they will know their believers from their disbelievers." They asked: "How is that?" He said: "The beast will emerge when it emerges—it is the Beast of the Earth—and it will wipe every human being on his place of prostration (masjid). As for the believer, there will be a white dot that spreads across his face until his face becomes white because of it. As for the disbeliever, there will be a black dot that spreads across his face until his face turns dark because of it. They will even be trading in their marketplaces; one will say, 'How do you sell this, O believer?' and the other will say, 'How do you sell this, O disbeliever?' And they will not respond to one another."
