Muhammad said: A fire 'khabat' (abates) when its flame subsides. If the flame subsides but the embers are not extinguished, it is said: 'khamadat' (it dies down). If it is extinguished and nothing remains of it, it is said: 'hamadat' (it becomes cold ashes).
His saying: "We will increase them in blazing fire," meaning: a fire that is kindled and flaming.
