Translation · EN

"And she said," the mother of Moses, "to his sister," to the sister of Moses, "Trace him," meaning: follow his tracks. "And she watched him from a distance," meaning: from far away, "while they were unaware" that she was his sister. She began to look at him, as if she were not seeking him.

﴿وَقَالَت﴾ أم مُوسَى ﴿لأخته﴾ لأخت مُوسَى ﴿قصيه﴾ أَيْ: اتْبَعِي أَثَرَهُ ﴿فَبَصُرَتْ بِهِ عَن جنب﴾ أَيْ: مِنْ بَعِيدٍ ﴿وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ﴾ أَنَّهَا أُخْتُهُ؛ جَعَلَتْ تَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ، وَكَأَنَّهَا لَا تريده
