Translation · EN

"Say, 'If you possessed the storehouses of the mercy of my Lord,'"—the interpretation of al-Suddi: meaning, the keys of provision—"'then you would surely withhold [them] out of fear of spending,'" out of fear of poverty. "'And man has ever been stingy,'" meaning miserly. He informs that they are stingy; that is: the polytheists.

Surat al-Isra from (verse 101 to verse 104).

﴿قُلْ لَوْ أَنْتُمْ تَمْلِكُونَ خَزَائِنَ رَحْمَة رَبِّي﴾ تَفْسِيرُ السُّدِّيِّ: يَعْنِي: مَفَاتِيحَ الرِّزْقِ ﴿إِذا لأمسكتم خشيَة الْإِنْفَاق﴾ خَشْيَةَ الْفَاقَةِ ﴿وَكَانَ الإِنْسَانُ قَتُورًا﴾ بَخِيلًا يُخْبِرُ أَنَّهُمْ بُخَلَاءُ؛ يَعْنِي: الْمُشْركين.
