"And when he directed his attention toward Madyan, he said, 'Perhaps my Lord will guide me to the correct way,'" meaning: the path to Madyan; for he had departed without knowing the way to Madyan.
﴿وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقَاءَ مَدْيَنَ قَالَ عَسَى رَبِّي أَنْ يَهْدِيَنِي سَوَاءَ السَّبِيل﴾ يَعْنِي: الطَّرِيقِ إِلَى مَدْيَنَ، وَكَانَ خَرَجَ وَلَا يَعْرِفُ الطَّرِيقَ إِلَى مَدين.
