"And We had certainly given Moses nine evident signs:" his hand, his staff, the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs, and the blood. "And We seized the people of Pharaoh with years [of famine] and a deficiency in fruits."
"So ask the Children of Israel [about] when he came to them"—He is saying this to the Prophet, peace be upon him—"Pharaoh said to him, 'Indeed, I think you, O Moses, are affected by magic.'" Muhammad [Ibn Abi Zamanin] said: Meaning, deceived, according to the interpretation of some of them.
﴿وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى تِسْعَ آيَاتٍ بَيِّنَات﴾ يَدَهُ، وَعَصَاهُ، وَالطُّوفَانَ، وَالْجَرَادَ، وَالْقُمَّلَ، وَالضَّفَادِعَ، وَالدَّمَ ﴿وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ﴾. ﴿فَاسْأَلْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ﴾ يَقُول ذَلِك للنَّبِي عليه السلام ﴿فَقَالَ لَهُ فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّي لأَظُنُّكَ يَا مُوسَى مسحورا﴾ قَالَ مُحَمَّد يَعْنِي: مخدوعا؛ فِي تَفْسِير بَعضهم.
