"And when the promise of the Hereafter comes, We will bring you as a gathered crowd," meaning: the Children of Israel, Pharaoh, and his people. (Lafifan) means: all together.
Muhammad said: The word al-lafif in the language means: groups from various tribes.
﴿فَإِذَا جَاءَ وَعْدُ الآخِرَةِ جِئْنَا بكم لفيفا﴾ يَعْنِي: بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمِهِ، (لفيفا) جَمِيعًا.
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: اللَّفِيفُ مَعْنَاهُ فِي اللُّغَةِ: الْجَمَاعَاتُ مِنْ قَبَائِلَ شَتَّى.
