"And your Lord creates what He wills and chooses" from His creation for prophethood. "It is not for them to have the choice," meaning: that they should choose, for it is He [who chooses the Prophets], and they should follow them. "Exalted is Allah" (He declares Himself free of imperfection) "and high is He above what they associate with Him."
﴿وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيَخْتَارُ﴾ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ لِلنُّبُوَّةِ. ﴿مَا كَانَ لَهُم الْخيرَة﴾ يَعْنِي: أَن يختاروا هُوَ [الْأَنْبِيَاء (ل ٢٥٧) فيتبعونهم]. ﴿سُبْحَانَ الله﴾ (ينزه نَفسه) ﴿وَتَعَالَى﴾ ارْتَفَعَ ﴿عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ﴾.
