[Say, "Have you considered: if Allah should make for you the day continuous"—meaning: everlasting, not ceasing—is the command by His saying to the polytheists, "what deity other than Allah could bring you night in which you rest?"—meaning: in which the creation rests.]
﴿قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُم النَّهَار سرمدا﴾ أَيْ: دَائِمًا لَا يَنْقَطِعُ، أَمْرُهُ أَنْ يَقَوْلَهُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿مَنْ إِلَهٌ غَيْرُ اللَّهِ يَأْتِيكُمْ بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُونَ فِيهِ﴾ أَي: يسكن فِيهِ الْخلق.
