Volume 3 · Page 126085

Translation · EN

"Indeed, He who has ordained for you the Quran" meaning: He who has revealed the Quran to you, "shall surely bring you back to a place of return."

Yahya said: It reached me that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) migrated, Gabriel descended upon him while he was at al-Juhfah, heading from Mecca to Medina, and said: "Do you yearn, O Muhammad, for your land in which you were born?" He said: "Yes." He then said: "Indeed, He who has ordained for you the Quran shall surely bring you back to a place of return," meaning: to your place of birth from which you departed, victorious over its people. "Say: My Lord is most knowing of who brings guidance," meaning: Muhammad brought guidance, so the believers believed in him, "and [of] who is," meaning: most knowing of who is, "in clear error."
