perform Jihad, then they were permitted to fight when the people of Mecca expelled them. So when they were commanded to perform Jihad, they disliked fighting.
يُجَاهِدُوا، ثُمَّ أَذِنَ لَهُمْ فِي الْقِتَالِ حِينَ أَخْرَجَهُمْ أَهْلُ مَكَّةَ؛ فَلَمَّا أُمِرُوا بِالْجِهَادِ كَرِهُوا الْقِتَالَ
