"And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment," meaning: all people to their parents, "good treatment," i.e., kindness and filial piety. "But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me," meaning: they desire that you associate with Me, "that of which you have no knowledge," i.e., that you do not know that there is a partner with Me; meaning: the believers, "do not obey them."
Surah Al-Ankabut, from (verse 9 to verse 13).
﴿وَوَصينَا الْإِنْسَان بِوَالِديهِ﴾ يَعْنِي: جَمِيعَ النَّاسِ بِوَالِدِيهِ ﴿حُسْنًا﴾ أَيْ: بِرًّا ﴿وَإِنْ جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي﴾ أَيْ: أَرَادَاكَ عَلَى أَنْ تُشْرِكَ بِي ﴿مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ علم﴾ أَيْ: أَنَّكَ لَا تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مَعِي شَرِيكًا؛ يَعْنِي: الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿فَلا تطعهما﴾.
