"So each [of them] We seized for his sin"—meaning: [each] of the previous nations who were destroyed. "And among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones"—meaning: the people of Lot, who were pelted with stones; [specifically] those who were outside their city, and the travelers among them. "And among them were those whom the blast seized"—[these are] Thamūd. "And among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow"—meaning: the city of the people of Lot, and Qārūn. "And among them were those whom We drowned"—the people of Noah, and Pharaoh and his people. Surah Al-Ankabūt, from (verse 40 - verse 44).
﴿فكلا أَخذنَا بِذَنبِهِ﴾ يَعْنِي: مِنْ أُهْلِكَ مِنَ الْأُمَمِ السَّابِقَةِ ﴿فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حاصبا﴾ يَعْنِي: قَوْمَ لُوطٍ الَّذِينَ رُجِمُوا بِالْحِجَارَةِ؛ مَنْ كَانَ خَارِجًا مِنْ مَدِينَتِهِمْ، وَأْهِلُ السَّفَرِ مِنْهُمْ. ﴿وَمِنْهُمْ من أَخَذته الصَّيْحَة﴾ ثَمُودُ ﴿وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ الأَرْض﴾ يَعْنِي: مَدِينَةَ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ وَقَارُونَ ﴿وَمِنْهُم من أغرقنا﴾ قوم نوح، وَفرْعَوْن وَقَومه. سُورَة العنكبوت من (آيَة ٤١ - آيَة ٤٥).
