"And whatever you give for interest to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allah." Al-Dahhak ibn Muzahim's interpretation: He said, that is a gift you give so that something better than it may be given to you in return; you have no reward for it, and there is no sin upon you for it. Some of them read it as: "li-yarbuwa," meaning: so that this usury might increase. "And whatever you give in Zakat, desiring the countenance of Allah," meaning: you desire Allah through it, "then those are the multipliers," meaning: those for whom Allah multiplies the good deeds.
Muhammad said: It is said: a man is "mud'if," meaning: he is a possessor of multiples of good deeds, just as it is said: a man is "musir," meaning: a possessor of wealth (yasar).
﴿وَمَا آتَيْتُمْ مِنْ رِبًا لِتُرْبُوَا فِي أَمْوَال النَّاس فَلَا يربوا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ﴾ تَفْسِيرُ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ مُزَاحِمٍ: قَالَ: تِلْكَ الْهَدِيَّةُ تُهْدِيهَا لَيُهَدَى إِلَيْكَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا لَيْسَ لَكَ فِيهَا أَجْرٌ، وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ فِيمَا وزر، وَبَعْضهمْ يقْرؤهَا: ﴿ليربوا﴾ أَيْ: لِيَرْبُوَ ذَلِكَ الرِّبَا ﴿وَمَا آتَيْتُمْ مِنْ زَكَاةٍ تُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ الله﴾ يَعْنِي: تُرِيدُونَ بِهِ اللَّهَ ﴿فَأُولَئِكَ هم المضعفون﴾ يَعْنِي: الَّذِينَ يُضَاعِفُ اللَّهُ لَهُمُ الْحَسَنَاتِ.
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: يُقَالُ: رَجُلٌ مُضْعِفٌ؛ أَيْ: ذُو أَضْعَافٍ مِنَ الْحَسَنَاتِ؛ كَمَا يُقَالُ: رَجُلٌ مُوسِرٌ؛ أَي: ذُو يسَار.
