"The criminals will swear"—the polytheists will take an oath—"that they had not remained"—in the world or in their graves—"except for an hour. Thus, they were deluded"—diverted in the world from believing in the Resurrection.
﴿يُقْسِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ﴾ يحلف الْمُشْركُونَ ﴿مَا لَبِثُوا﴾ فِي الدُّنْيَا فِي قُبُورهم ﴿غيرساعة كَذَلِك كَانُوا يؤفكون﴾ يَصُدُّونَ فِي الدُّنْيَا عَنِ الْإِيمَانِ بِالْبَعْثِ
