Translation · EN

﴿قُلْ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَعْصِمُكُمْ﴾ [Say, "Who is it that can protect you"]—meaning: can prevent [the decree of] Allah—﴿مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَ بكم سوءا﴾ [from Allah, if He intends for you an evil], meaning: killing and defeat, according to the Tafsir of al-Suddi. ﴿أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً﴾ [or if He intends for you a mercy], al-Suddi said: meaning victory and conquest.

Surah al-Ahzab, from (verse 18 to verse 20).

﴿قُلْ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَعْصِمُكُمْ﴾ (ل ٢٧٠) أَيْ: يَمْنَعُكُمْ ﴿مِنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَرَادَ بكم سوءا﴾ يَعْنِي: الْقَتْلَ وَالْهَزِيمَةَ؛ فِي تَفْسِيرِ السُّدِّيِّ ﴿أَوْ أَرَادَ بِكُمْ رَحْمَةً﴾ قَالَ السُّدِّيُّ: يَعْنِي: النَّصْرَ وَالْفَتْحَ.
