"O Prophet, say to your wives" up to His saying: "a great reward" (33:28-29). Qatadah said: He only gave them the choice between the world and the Hereafter, and He did not offer them divorce.
﴿يَا أَيهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لأَزْوَاجِكَ﴾ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: ﴿أجرا عَظِيما﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: إِنَّمَا خَيَّرَهُنَّ بَيْنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ، وَلَمْ يُخَيِّرْهُنَّ الطَّلَاقَ
