al-Baqarah: "There is no blame upon you if you divorce women while you have not touched them," up to His saying: "then [give them] half of what you have specified." This is the view of the majority, that it is abrogated.

Al-Hasan used to say: She is entitled to the provision; it is not abrogated. If a man dies before consummating the marriage with his wife, they inherit from one another and she is entitled to the full dowry, whereas she is only entitled to half if he divorces her. "And release them in a graceful manner," to their families. A woman and a man should not be in one house when there is no marital sanctity between them.
