Muhammad said: He said: "Aatat" (brought forth) and did not say "Atata" (they both brought forth), because the meaning is that each one of them brought forth its fruit. "And We caused a river to gush forth within them," meaning between them.
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: قَالَ: (آتت) وَلَمْ يَقُلْ: (أَتَتَا)؛ لِأَنَّ الْمَعْنَى كل وَاحِد مِنْهُمَا أَتَتْ أُكُلَهَا. ﴿وَفَجَّرْنَا خِلالَهُمَا نَهرا﴾ أَي: بَينهمَا
