"May your Lord have mercy on you." Qatada said: So God returned to them with His assistance. He said: "And if you return, We will return" to you with punishment. Al-Hasan said: He returned it upon them with Muhammad (peace be upon him), so He humiliated them with the jizya (poll tax). "And We have made Hell a prison for the disbelievers." Qatada said: Meaning, a prison.
