Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 2012

Translation · EN

"And We have made the night and the day two signs. Then We blotted out the sign of the night." It is said: Ninety-nine parts were blotted out from the light of the moon, and one part remained. "And We have made the sign of the day illuminating," meaning: luminous, "that you may seek bounty from your Lord," meaning: during the day, "and that you may know the number of years and the account" through the night and the day. "And everything We have set out in detail." The interpretation of Al-Hasan: We separated the night from the day, and the day from the night, and the sun from the moon, and the moon from the sun.

Muhammad said: "Everything" (kulla) is in the accusative case (mansub) with the meaning: And We have separated everything, and set it out in detail.

Surat Al-Isra (from verse 13 to verse 17).
