Translation · EN

"Read your record; sufficient is yourself against you this Day as an accountant." Qatada said: On that day, even he who was not a reader in the world will read.

Muhammad said: "Hasiban" (accountant) is a tamyiz (specification); and it is, according to some of them, in the sense of: "muhasib" (one who holds to account).

﴿اقْرَأْ كِتَابَكَ كَفَى بِنَفْسِكَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْك حسيبا﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: سَيَقْرَأُ يَوْمَئِذٍ مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَارِئًا فِي الدُّنْيَا.

قَالَ مُحَمَّد: (حسيبا) تَمْيِيزٌ؛ وَهُوَ فِي قَوْلِ بَعْضِهِمْ بِمَعْنى: محاسب.
