Yahya said: Ali ibn Abi Talib was asked about Dhu al-Qarnayn, and he replied: 'He was a righteous servant who called his people to faith, but they did not answer him. They struck him on his horn and killed him, then Allah brought him back to life. Then he called his people again, and they struck him on his horn and killed him, so Allah brought him back to life, and thus he was named Dhu al-Qarnayn (the Possessor of the Two Horns).'
