Al-Hasan used to recite it as: (ā-marnā), which also denotes abundance. Qatada said: (amarnā) is light, on the estimation of: we have done so. And the recitation of Al-Hasan is (ā-marnā), with an elongated alif.
Yahya said: Ibn Abbas used to recite it as (ammarnā), with the doubling of the letter, meaning from the perspective of appointing leaders (imārah).
Surat Al-Isra' from (verse 18 to verse 21).
وَكَانَ الْحَسَنُ يَقْرَؤُهَا: (آمَرْنَا) وَهُوَ من الْكَثْرَة أَيْضا. قَالَ قَتَادَة: (أمرنَا) مُخَفَّفَةٌ عَلَى تَقْدِيرِ: فَعَلْنَا، وَقِرَاءَةُ الْحَسَنِ (آمَرْنَا) مَمْدُودَةُ الْأَلِفِ.
قَالَ يَحْيَى: وَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَقْرَؤُهَا (أَمَّرْنَا) بِالتَّثْقِيلِ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْإِمَارَةِ.
