Translation · EN

His statement: (hanan); meaning: Our command is hanan: affection and mercy. "And purity [wa-zakah]" Qatada said: Al-zakah is righteous work. "And he was pious [taqiyyan]."

Yahya [narrated] from al-Rabi' ibn Subayh, from al-Hasan, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no one from the children of Adam except that he has committed a sin or intended to do so, except for Yahya ibn Zakariyya (John the son of Zechariah); he did not commit a sin, nor did he intend to do so."

قَوْله: (حنان)؛ أَيْ: أَمْرُنَا حَنَانٌ: عَطْفٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ. ﴿وَزَكَاة﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: الزَّكَاةُ: الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ ﴿وَكَانَ تقيا﴾.

يحيى: عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: " مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ آدَمَ إِلَّا قَدْ أَصَابَ ذَنْبًا أَوْ هَمَّ بِهِ، غَيْرَ يَحْيَى بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا لَمْ يُصِبْ ذَنْبًا، وَلم يهم بِهِ ".
