"And dutiful to his parents [wa-barran bi-walidayhi]," meaning: obedient to both of them. "And he was not a tyrant, disobedient [wa-lam yakun jabbaran 'asiyya]," meaning: arrogant toward the worship of Allah.
﴿وَبرا بِوَالِديهِ﴾ أَيْ: مُطِيعًا لَهُمَا ﴿وَلَمْ يَكُنْ جبارا عصيا﴾ أَيْ: مُسْتَكْبِرًا عَنْ عِبَادَةِ اللَّهِ
