Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 30945

Translation · EN

"O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion [ally]," meaning: if the punishment descends upon you, your repentance will not be accepted; but as long as it has not descended upon you, your repentance is accepted if you repent.

Muhammad said: "Ya abati" (O my father), the pause upon it is with a ha': "Ya abah" (O father), where the ha' is a substitute for the ya' of annexation.

Surah Maryam from (verse 46 to verse 51).
