"Those upon whom Allah has bestowed favor" with prophethood "from the descendants of Adam and from those whom We carried with Noah." Idris was of the progeny of Adam before Noah, and Ibrahim (Abraham) was of the descendants of Noah. He (the Almighty) said: "And from the descendants of Ibrahim and Israel"—who is Ya'qub (Jacob)—"and from those whom We guided" to faith, "and chose" for prophethood; meaning: We selected [them]. "When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell prostrate and weeping," the plural of "baki" (weeper).
