"And there is none of you except that he will come to it. [It is] upon your Lord an inevitability decreed."
Yahya [narrated] from Yunus ibn Abi Ishaq, from his father, from Abu al-Ahwas, from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud regarding the saying [of Allah]: "And there is none of you except that he will come to it," [who] said: "The bridge over Hell is like the edge of a sword, and the angels have with them hooks of iron; every time a man slips, they snatch him. So the first rank passes like lightning, the second like the wind, and the third like the finest..."
﴿وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلا وَارِدُهَا كَانَ على رَبك حتما مقضيا﴾.
يَحْيَى: عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: ﴿وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا واردها﴾ قَالَ: " الصِّرَاطُ عَلَى جَهَنَّمَ مِثْلُ حَدِّ السَّيْفِ، وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ مَعَهُمْ كَلَالِيبُ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ كُلَّمَا وَقَعَ رَجُلٌ اخْتَطَفُوهُ؛ فَيَمُرُّ الصَّفُّ الْأَوَّلُ كَالْبَرْقِ، وَالثَّانِي كَالرِّيحِ، وَالثَّالِثُ كَأَجْوَدِ
