Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 39847

Translation · EN

'So send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them.' The Children of Israel were to the Copts in the same position as the people of the Jizya (poll tax) are to us. 'We have come to you with a sign from your Lord'—meaning the staff and the hand. 'And peace be upon those who follow the guidance.'

Yahya said: When the Prophet, peace be upon him, wrote to the polytheists, he would write: 'Peace be upon those who follow the guidance.'

Surat Taha from (verse 49 to verse 54).
