"[He] Who has made the earth for you a cradle (mahd) [meaning: a bed/expanse], and has inserted for you therein roads [meaning: He has placed for you paths therein], and has sent down water from the sky, and therewith We have brought forth pairs [meaning: various kinds] of plants of different [sorts]. Thus, He who causes these various pairs to grow is capable of resurrecting you after death."
﴿الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الأَرْضَ مَهْدًا﴾ أَيْ: بِسَاطًا ﴿وَسَلَكَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سبلا﴾ أَيْ: جَعَلَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا طُرُقًا ﴿وَأَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا﴾ أصنافا ﴿من نَبَات شَتَّى﴾ أَيْ: مُخْتَلِفٍ، فَالَّذِي يُنْبِتُ هَذِهِ الْأَزْوَاجِ الشَّتَّى قَادِرٌ عَلَى أَنْ يبعثكم بعد الْمَوْت.
