Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 43694

Translation · EN

[He] said, 'O son of my mother, do not seize me by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, "You have caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe my word,"' meaning: you did not wait for my appointed time, whereas I had made you my successor over them.

Muhammad said: Whoever reads it as (Ya ibna umma) with a fatḥa on the mim—while its grammatical position is that of a genitive (jarr)—it is because (ibna and umma) were treated as a single entity and constructed upon the fatha, like (khamsata 'ashar) [fifteen].
