This is the soul of Your servant. Allah and His angels will pray for him, and He will say: Return My servant, and show him what I have prepared for him of honor, for I have covenanted to My servants: From it We created you, and into it We will return you. His soul is returned to him when he is placed in his grave, and he indeed hears the sound of your sandals as you depart from him. It is then said to him: What is your religion? Who is your Lord? And who is your Prophet? He says: Allah is my Lord, Islam is my religion, and Muhammad is my Prophet. They will chide him severely, then it is said to him: What is your religion? Who is your Lord? And who is your Prophet? He says: Allah is my Lord, Islam is my religion, and Muhammad is my Prophet. Then a caller calls out: "Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word in the worldly life and in the Hereafter." His deeds come to him in a beautiful form and a sweet scent, and say: Receive glad tidings of gardens containing everlasting bliss. I used to be quick in the obedience of Allah and slow in the disobedience of Allah. He says: And may Allah give you glad tidings of good; for one with a face like yours brings good tidings. Who are you? It says: I am your good deeds. Then a door is opened for him from the doors of Hell, and it is said to him: This would have been your abode, so Allah has replaced it for you with something better. Then a side of his grave is opened, and he sees his abode in Paradise, and he looks at what Allah has prepared for him of honor. He says: O Lord, when will the Hour occur, so that I may return to my family and my wealth? Then he is given space in his grave and he sleeps. As for the disbeliever, when he is at the end of this world and the beginning of the Hereafter, angels with black faces come to him with garments of tar and tatters of fire, and they sit at a distance from him where he can see them. His soul is extracted just as a spit with many prongs is pulled from wet wool, tearing at his veins.
