"They said, 'Then bring him before the eyes of the people, so that they may bear witness'"—that he broke them. Qatadah said:
﴿قَالُوا فَأْتُوا بِهِ عَلَى أَعْيُنِ النَّاس لَعَلَّهُم يشْهدُونَ﴾ أَنَّهُ كَسَرَهَا، قَالَ قَتَادَةُ:
