(it reached) the like of it, at the time it was destroyed, they shall take back their sheep.' David said to him: 'Excellent is the opinion you have seen.'
(p. 217) 'And We subjected the mountains to David, hymns, and the birds'—all the mountains and all the birds used to hymn with David in the morning and the evening, and he understood their hymn. 'And We were ones who do' meaning: We have already done that.
Muhammad said: It is permissible to put 'al-tayr' (the birds) in the accusative case (nasb) based on two aspects: the first is on the meaning: 'And We subjected the birds,' and the second is on the meaning: 'they hymn with the birds.'
