"And when you recite the Qur'an, We put between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter a concealed partition." Muhammad said: It was said that the interpretation of the 'partition' (hijab) is Allah's preventing them from [reaching] the Prophet, peace be upon him; and 'concealed' (mastura) carries the meaning of 'a concealing [partition]' (satir).
﴿وَإِذا قَرَأت الْقُرْآن جَعَلْنَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤمنُونَ بِالآخِرَة حِجَابا مَسْتُورا﴾ قَالَ مُحَمَّد: قِيلَ: إِن تَأْوِيل الْحِجَابِ: مَنْعَ اللَّهِ إِيَّاهُمْ مِنَ النَّبِي عليه السلام، و (مَسْتُورا) فِي معنى (سَاتِر).
