Muhammad said: Whoever reads "ummatukum" (your community) in the nominative case (raf'), and reads "ummatan wahidatan" (a single community) in the accusative case (nasb), then "ummatukum" is the nominative predicate of "hadhihi" (this), and the accusative case of "ummatan" is due to the occurrence of the indefinite noun after the completion of the sentence; this is the statement of Abu 'Ubayda.
