"He calls, other than Allah, upon that which can neither harm him nor benefit him," meaning: the idol. "That is the far error."
﴿يَدْعُو مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يضرّهُ وَلَا يَنْفَعهُ﴾ يَعْنِي: الْوَثَنَ ﴿ذَلِكَ هُوَ الضَّلالُ الْبَعِيدُ﴾.
